Mini-Project Instructions

Greetings and salutations my little APUSHER's!  Our next sub-unit within Period 5 takes us from the Deep South to the Wild, Wild West with a study of territorial and economic expansion during the 1830-1860's.  Instead of reading chapter 13 from our textbook we are going to switch it up by reading a chapter from a different book.  You have will have two in-class days (Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving break) to work on your little project, which are due the Monday you get back.  Use the instructions below to complete your mini-project.  Excelsior!:
  • Create a free account with Visme by clicking on the "Visme" button above.
  • Click on "Create a new Visme".
  • Select "Infographic" and choose from one of the "free infographics" from which to make your own infographic that outlines the material from the above "Territorial and Economic Expansion" reading above.
  • Your infographic will inform the reader about everything they need to know about this period in history as outlined in the reading.
  • Your infographic must include:
    • graphics, images, paintings, diagrams, charts, maps, etc. (Anything to make it not just words)
    • Sections within your infographic with summaries and explanations of all the major bolded subheadings of the readings (of which there are 4)
      1. Conflicts over Texas, Maine, and Oregon
      2. War with Mexico
      3. Settlement of the Western Territories
      4. The Expanding Economy
    • Your infographic should be full of information, explanation, definitions, analysis, and history: A COMPLETE SUMMARY OF THE READING!
  • When you have completed your infographic, click the "publish" button and click on the "Share" tab.  Email the link to yourself and to eflessa@troy.k12.mi.us and you are done!
