Mini-Project Instructions
Greetings and salutations my little APUSHER's! Our next sub-unit within Period 5 takes us from the Deep South to the Wild, Wild West with a study of territorial and economic expansion during the 1830-1860's. Instead of reading chapter 13 from our textbook we are going to switch it up by reading a chapter from a different book. You have will have two in-class days (Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving break) to work on your little project, which are due the Monday you get back. Use the instructions below to complete your mini-project. Excelsior!:
- Create a free account with Visme by clicking on the "Visme" button above.
- Click on "Create a new Visme".
- Select "Infographic" and choose from one of the "free infographics" from which to make your own infographic that outlines the material from the above "Territorial and Economic Expansion" reading above.
- Your infographic will inform the reader about everything they need to know about this period in history as outlined in the reading.
- Your infographic must include:
- graphics, images, paintings, diagrams, charts, maps, etc. (Anything to make it not just words)
- Sections within your infographic with summaries and explanations of all the major bolded subheadings of the readings (of which there are 4)
- Conflicts over Texas, Maine, and Oregon
- War with Mexico
- Settlement of the Western Territories
- The Expanding Economy
- Your infographic should be full of information, explanation, definitions, analysis, and history: A COMPLETE SUMMARY OF THE READING!
- When you have completed your infographic, click the "publish" button and click on the "Share" tab. Email the link to yourself and to eflessa@troy.k12.mi.us and you are done!
